My first post

So, here I am starting a blog! Obviously right now I'm talking to an empty theater but hopefully soon a few people will enter the door. This a trial-run post, I'm still figuring this all out. So here's my little story.

My name is Jen, i'm 32 (almost 33-eek) living in central Connecticut with my DB (dear boyfriend?) of SEVEN years and my chocolate lab, Munson (aka Brown Dog) who just turned 4.  We own a small 1200sq ft cape cod home on a nice quiet street and have been here 4 years this month. While renting a condo, I became obsessed with HGTV and how wonderful I could make my home look. After purchasing our home in 2008 my hobbies and life changed and I became very focused on diy and making my tiny little red cape cod, a home. We started right away, refinishing hardwood floors, re-painting, changing doors, etc. I love before and afters and here, I will share many of the projects and some things I've learned along the way.
I also have become very attached to a few blogs and some very crafty ladies who have inspired me to take on projects I normally wouldn't and even to start this blog. They don't even know who they are, but hopefully one day they might read this! Unlike some of the bloggers out there, I'm not super creative on my own, I spy things that I love, and I re-create. I'm not afraid to admit it, and not at all trying to fool anyone into thinking I came up with anything I've done on my own. And of course now there's Pinterest, adding fuel to my fire!
My projects take me a long time, longer than most because I work full time and most of my adventures must wait for the oh-so-glorious weekend! Work really gets in the way of things  but I havn't hit the powerball yet so I just keep on truckin'.
So in addition to my home projects, I also love to bake, and get so many compliments on my cupcakes and cookies, I've seriously thought about trying to start up some sort of shop, but not sure how just yet. Add it to the list.

To some it all up, there's not enough time in the day to get it all done, so I decided to start a blog.
Haha, how ironic. Here we go!
